First you’ll enjoy a picturesque drive, to Nazareth – the place where Jesus spent his early years. Arrival in this fascinating town filled with rich historical significance, you’ll have the opportunity to explore the amazing Basilica of the Annunciation, one of Christendom’s most revered shrines and the largest church in the Middle East. The Basilica is built on the same sight where the Archangel Gabriel revealed to Mary that she would be the mother of the Messiah. Amongst the mesmerizing sites you’ll see here is the altar, which incorporates a portion of the grotto where Mary had lived. A remarkable 170-foot- high cupola that raises high above the upper church adds to the Basilica’s grandeur and allows the interior to be illuminated with natural light. You will also find a significant collection of magnificent mosaics, ceramic reliefs and other marvelous works of art from around the world adorning the vast interior. From here, it’s a walk through the colorful Arab bazaar were you can buy some souvenirs and have a refreshment stop. You’ll travel through Cana, the place where Jesus performed his first miracle of turning water into wine. Then it’s on to the panoramic seashore to the Yardenit baptismal sight where the River Jordan separates from the Sea of Galilee. In this naturally scenic and symbolic setting, pilgrims from around the world come to perform baptismal ceremonies On your way back, You will view Mount Tabor, the traditional site of the Transfiguration where Jesus appeared to his disciples in radiant light while speaking with Moses and Elijah. If time permits, you’ll be able to visit the diamond museum and show room in the city of Tiberias located on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

Important to know

Nazareth extenders – are all paved, however in Nazareth a short distance of up hill in which wheel chairs will have to be pushed up. To our experience it is not a problem to be done with wheelchairs..In Yardent the baptismal site it is flat and paved.
Don’t forget walking shoes, hats, sunglasses.Women should cover their shoulders while visiting the holy sights. Men and women should not wear shorts / Bermudas.
